I enjoyed cooking at a young age. I learned the love of preparing good, wholesome food from my grandmother … making cakes, jellies and preserves.
My dad was a budding gourmet in the in the 90’s. Not to mention, I had access to all kinds of magazines and cookbooks that were lying around the house. I loved to read those.
As I got a little older, I realized that food was a part of me. I was really big into art as a child and began transferring that creativity into the food I cooked. It not only made sense, but the creativity of making really good food inspired me.
Through the years I began working in kitchens from the Dog House Grill in Loveland, OH (now El Picante) to Paxton’s Grill, then The Works. When I graduated high school, I went to McCormick & Schmick’s (a growing fine-dining restaurant at the time) and spent several years there and eventually ended up on their corporate chef team traveling across the NE for 6 years.
Then, I came back to Cincinnati to run a restaurant for McCormick & Schmick’s. I opened a restaurant called Crave in Cincinnati as an executive chef. After about a year and a half I was promoted to regional chef for them, and moved to Minnesota, eventually as a Corporate Executive Chef managing multiple Crave locations and other concepts.
I lived all over the country opening restaurants, managing locations and creating menus for delicious food that pleased clients.
These experiences led me to to come back to the Loveland area and opening Tano..
Finally, I decided to venture out on my own so I could build a career around my love for cooking, while creating a life for my family.
Today, I focus on creating food for discerning clients who want healthy, delicious food for their families or special events. Every dish I create is sourced from the best ingredients, including local meat and produce when I can get it.
My goal is to ensure that every one of my clients is thrilled with the food I create for them. If that sounds like what you’d be interested in for your family or next gathering, get in touch. I’d love to serve you, as well.
